What is Welridge Residents Association?

Established in March 1997, the Welridge Residents Association (WRA) is a committed community organisation dedicated to enhancing safety, promoting sustainable living, and fostering unity among residents.
Through 24/7 security camera monitoring by a dedicated provider, we’ve significantly strengthened crime prevention and created a safer neighbourhood. In addition, WRA partners with two active patrolling companies, Beagle Watch Security, and EC Security. These teams collaborate to monitor our crime watch social media group, enabling swift responses to emergencies and suspicious activity.
With multiple response vehicles continuously patrolling the area, we’ve seen a marked drop in crime, affirming the success of our joint efforts.
WRA remains dedicated to building a safe, green, and thriving environment for all residents.

Mission Statement

To address the declared goals of “The Body” to prevent, reduce, curb and/or eradicate crime by:

  • Creating an atmosphere of good neighbourliness.
  • Encouraging all residents to get to know their neighbour/s, and to be observant of each other.
  • Maintaining a communication structure for residents to present a unified front for crime prevention.
  • Maintaining its 1.8 km green belt in a well-kept state.

Strengthening our community through membership

We encourage residents to become members and contribute financially, enabling “The Body” to:

  • Partner with a private security company to provide 24/7 proactive and reactive patrols throughout Welridge.
  • Implement additional security measures, including palisade fencing, to enhance safety.
  • Support the Honeydew Community Police Forum in assisting the Honeydew SAPS with crime prevention efforts.
  • Adopt any necessary measures to achieve our safety and community goals.
